A generative research case study

What is Janta?

A platform to seek help form alumnae. Cofounders were three ISB school grads, who had this idea from how they found their network helpful and were inspired off of the use of ‘hyperlocal networks’ during covid.

Role & Contribution

As a UXR team of one, my role was to primarily conduct research with target users to identify what their current experiences ‘asking for help’ was, to understand their were pain points and gaps in their existing experiences. It was also to understand which platforms they currently use and why.

I conducted stakeholder interviews, where I wanted to understand their vision, immediate concerns, and what success meant to them.

I collaborated with the three co-founders to understand their individual goals, vision, and needs for the product.

Research Goals

HMW understand how recent graduates seek help and advice from their alumnae network in the areas of flatmates, jobs and social help?

Goals:

To understand the following in areas of everyday help*:

  1. Uncover needs & goals when it comes to reaching out to their network for help & advice
  2. End-to-end process of how people get help using platforms online & their thought process and prior experiences
  3. Current pain points, frustrations, and barriers about seeking help from their network & how they would improve these
